IN YEAR 1906 THE BAROQUE CHÂTEAU KNEZICE WAS REDESIGNED BY LEOPOLD BAUER, STUDENT OF OTTO WAGNER IN VIENNA, IN THE ART NOUVEAU STYLE.
ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER LEOPOLD BAUER (1872–1938) WAS AN IMPORTANT FIGURE IN VIENNESE AND AUSTRIA-HUNGARIAN ARCHITECTURE IN EARLY PART OF THE 20TH CENTURY. HIS 1901 DESIGN FOR THE HOUSE ( FOR A COMPETITION) WAS AWARDED ONE OF THREE PRIZES. LEOPOLD BAUER WAS ACTIVE IN ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION. IN 1913 HE WAS THE UNPOPULAR SUCCESSOR TO OTTO WAGNER AS PROFESSOR OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE AT THE VIENNA ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS.
