FELIX NEUMANN HOUSE

In 1902, the apartment building on Českobratrská Street was designed by the renowned Ostrava Art Nouveau architect Felix Neumann.

Felix Neumann  (1860-1942)  - after studying and working with the Viennese builder W. Stiassne and the Berlin architects H. Kayser and K. von Grossheim, he returned to Moravská Ostrava in 1889, where he founded his architectural studio and construction company. Especially in the years 1890–1914, he significantly participated in the construction and reconstruction of Moravská Ostrava and the surrounding municipalities. He designed and built a number of apartment buildings and family villas for representatives of the social, political and economic elites of Ostrava's urban society. He also received orders from the largest industrial enterprises in the Ostrava region. His office produced projects for numerous city landmarks - public buildings, townhouses, hotels, cafes, etc. He employed several talented assistants in his studio, e.g. Hermann Müller, Karel Juraschek, Adolf Schnittenhelm, Max Löwy, Adolf Dočkal, Paul Waller, etc.
